What will you do?

As a Service Staff Member, you are the face of Kyatcha Rotterdam. With your professional and guest-focused mindset, you ensure every guest feels welcome and leaves with a smile. You take your responsibilities seriously and are proactive in supporting the team while enhancing the guest experience. Your daily responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming and serving guests: You greet guests with warmth, escort them to their tables, and make them feel at home. Throughout their stay, you deliver attentive and friendly service.
  • Taking orders and advising guests: You know the menu well and can confidently recommend dishes, drinks, and specials. You inform guests about dietary options, food allergies, and our shared-dining concept to help them make the best choices.
  • Serving and creating a pleasant experience: You serve food and drinks with care and efficiency. You pay attention to every detail at the table, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Upselling and sales contribution: With a commercial mindset, you actively contribute to both the guest experience and sales. You are comfortable suggesting extra dishes, pairings, or desserts to elevate the dining journey.
  • Handling payments and guest feedback: You process payments accurately and deal with guest feedback in a professional, solution-oriented way. You take ownership in resolving issues and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Teamwork and other duties: You collaborate closely with kitchen and floor colleagues. You assist with prep work (mise en place), table setup/clearing, and maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with hygiene and HACCP guidelines.

We are looking for a mature, responsible professional who fits in with our experienced team. Ideally, you recognize yourself in the following:

  • Guest-focused and professional attitude: You always put the guest first and present yourself with care. You see service as a craft and are committed to delivering consistent quality.
  • Comfort with sales and upselling: You enjoy recommending extras and guiding guests toward a better experience. Sales experience is a plus, but willingness to learn is even more important.
  • Sense of responsibility: You take initiative, are dependable, and can work independently. You take your role seriously and are proud to deliver excellent service.
  • Eagerness to learn: You’re open to training and want to grow in your role. Experience in hospitality is helpful but not required — your mindset matters most.
  • Affinity for a stylish environment: You thrive in a trendy, modern setting and help maintain the restaurant’s polished atmosphere.
  • Strong communication skills: You communicate clearly and kindly with guests and team members. You preferably speak fluent Dutch and English to assist our international clientele.
  • Team player with a positive mindset: You enjoy collaborating in a supportive, respectful environment. You contribute to a professional yet friendly atmosphere on the floor.
  • Flexibility: You’re available to work evenings and weekends, typical in hospitality. You’re adaptable and able to handle peak times and changing situations.
  • Local presence: Ideally, you live in the Rotterdam area, allowing for punctual and reliable attendance.
